    Description

    Original vintage photograph.
    It measures approximately
    4 x 6
    Inches.
This photograph was an award that was given to Maria Mikhaylovna Kopot', the woman that is circled in red. She was born in 1922 in Belarus, she was a member of VLKSM since 1940. I did find information about her online, (see screenshot 1) she received the "For Combat Services" medal that she is wearing on the picture in May, 1945. Info: S
he was awarded for taking part in the Great Patriotic war as a telegraphist
    in the 193rd
    Reconnaissance
Aviation Regiment, she was ranked gefreiter. She served from December 1943 until May 9th, 1945. She showed great results in combat-learning preparations and in combat work. She arrived in the unit with low qualifications of a telegraphist, she worked hard to improve knowledge and in three months she started service and started working on her own and perfectly mastered her specialty. She perfectly kept communications with the
    reconnaissance
planes, not letting the enemy eavesdrop on crew reports despite the congestion of the radio wave. On April 11th, 1945 she worked with 5-10 crews who were completing combat assignments, on April 18th she worked with 8-10
    reconnaissance
crews exceptionally providing communications of the planes with ground control. She treats her radio equipment and work with love.
Inscription on the back: To valiant Soviet women warriors of the victorious Red Army. To participants of the Great Patriotic War against German occupants in 1941-1945 for remembrance of the combat days. (Below there are three signatures of the regiment commanders)
On the left side: To guards unit gefreiter Kopot' Maria Mikhailovna.
The photograph is printed on German Agfa-Brovira photopaper.
