LP Album Jacket (vinyl record not included)
SIGNED
by
BOB DYLAN!
I purchased this scarce signed album on eBay, which included three Certificates of Authenticity from Michael Wehrmann, RR Auction and Jeff Gold (Recordmecca). Once I received this LP from the eBay seller, I also obtained an additional Certificate of Authenticity from Roger Epperson Authentication Limited (REAL).
The following details come from Recordmecca's website describing this
one of only two
authentically signed LP:
Bob Dylan - Signed "Another Side of Bob Dylan" LP
A copy of Bob Dylan's 1965 classic 'Another Side of Bob Dylan,' autographed boldly by Dylan on the front cover.
This autograph was obtained by legendary in-person collector Michael Wehrmann, who the New York Times called 'probably the best in the world at what he does.' Wehrmann is famed for his ability to track down celebrities and get them to sign; he once explained to us that he only asks Dylan for signatures once a year, and Dylan reciprocates by signing a few items each time.
This is one of only two authentic signed 'Another Side of Bob Dylan' albums we've seen, and it's a beauty, signed boldly in dark blue marker. Wehrmann has written inside the mouth of the album "Signed 8-13-11 NY"; on that day Dylan appeared at Jones Beach Theatre in Nassau, New York. This is a later pressing; the cover in Near Mint- condition, with no disc. Included is a letter of authenticity from R&R Auctions noting that this was signed for Michael Wehrmann.
Recordmecca's Jeff Gold is a well known Dylan expert and was a curatorial consultant and major lender to the traveling museum exhibition "Bob Dylan's American Journey: 1956-1966." He is a recognized expert on Dylan's handwriting, and this comes with his written, lifetime guarantee of authenticity as well. The market is filled
with Dylan forgeries; this is a rare opportunity to obtain a great signed Bob Dylan album with impeccable provenance.

Fine Art Print
SIGNED
by
BOB DYLAN!
This enduring image forms the cover of Dylan's fourth album. Out of only twenty-five (25) prints, this piece of artwork is Number Eighteen (18). All prints
SOLD OUT
almost immediately after their release. This highly valued collectible is unframed and in
MINT
condition. I purchased this signed print directly from its publisher, Genesis Publications Limited, from whom the Certificate of Authenticity is issued.
In 1965, hailed as the world's most-loved folk poet, Dylan brought rock into his repertoire, refusing to stand still. "I don't call myself a poet," he stated, "I'm a trapeze artist." 50 years on, Behind The Picture Frame celebrates Dylan's ingenuity and the excitement of those times.
BEHIND THE PICTURE FRAME
follows Dylan from the scene of his Greenwich Village debut, to the spotlights of London's Royal Albert Hall. Taken between 1962 and 1966 by some of the world's greatest photographers, the series presents 10 highly collectible editions.
Each archival print is signed as a mark of authenticity by the artist himself, Bob Dylan.

The source of the artwork of Another Side of Bob Dylan
Released: August 8, 1964
Photographer: Sandy Speiser
Liner Notes: Bob Dylan
Art-director: John Berg
On the evening of June 9, 1964, Bob Dylan had recorded fourteen original compositions. Eleven of those songs were selected to form his fourth album, called
Another Side of Bob Dylan
. Even as late as 1978, the singer showed himself unhappy with the title, for which he blamed producer Tom Wilson: “I thought it was just too corny,” he said, “I just felt trouble coming when they titled it that.”
A portrait of the singer was needed for the sleeve. So, sometime in early Summer, Columbia staff photographer Sandy Speiser and Bob Dylan met in the company’s recording studio on the seventh floor of 799 on Seventh Avenue, New York. This was probably after a mixing session for the album, as producer Tom Wilson can be seen in one of the outtakes from the photo session.
Speiser proposed to hit the street and see what happens – much in the same way his colleague Don Hunstein had done for the photograph on
The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan
.
Based on what Dylan is wearing (a dark brown collarless coat over a mock-turtleneck shirt), some ten photographs of the session could be identified as coming from that same date.
As some of these pictures are printed in colour, either Sandy Speiser was carrying two cameras: one with a colour film and another with black-and-white, and was using them alternately, or – more likely – all these photos, including the album cover, were shot in colour.
Bob Egan is a New Yorker who keeps a very interesting website, called PopSpotsNYC, where he publishes the results of his research to find “The exact locations of album cover photos and other visuals of pop history”, mostly in New York City.
Thanks to Bob Egan’s detective work, we can follow the trajectory the three men took that day, almost step by step.
The starting point is the corner of Seventh Avenue and West 52nd Street, just outside the building where the Columbia studio is located. They cross the street and walk down 52nd Street, heading West, staying on the pavement on the left s
ide.
First stop is a newsstand, where Tom Wilson buys a newspaper, as can be seen on two surviving colour pictures.
A bit further, just across the next intersection, an amusement centre is located on the south-west corner of 52
nd
Street and Broadway.
They go inside and Bob tries out a rifle-shooting game – at
least three photos
were taken.
Back outside, they notice a policeman, just around the corner, talking to a woman. Bob walks pass them, looking knowingly over his shoulder to the photographer.
While doing so, they pass the outside of the arcade centre.
A window where masks and joke items are displayed, is recognized as an interesting background.
One mask represents Jackie Kennedy, another the French president Charles De Gaulle. Dylan crouches in front of the window, for two more photos.
With Dylan still crouched on the sidewalk, Speiser then moves to the right of him to take some more pictures.
While doing this, Speiser notices a lamp pole, with a distinctive triangular street sign, as used then all along Broadway.
Dylan poses in front of the pole, smiling while looking to the right. Then he moves to the left, first somewhat contemplative-looking downward, and finally posing with his left foot on the bottom of the pole. And that’s the cover of Another Side of Bob Dylan.
Columbia’s art director John Berg, places the photo, printed in black-and-white, in the centre of a white square, with on the upper left,
the album title and on the other side the CBS logo, plus the song titles.
‘Some Other Kind of Songs’, a long text by Dylan occupies the entire back of the cover
Note:
The photo with the masks, “Large Selection of Masks”, is considered in 2003 for the front of Volume 6 of the Bootleg Series: Live 1964 – Concert at Philharmonic Hall. Ultimately, a portrait from another session with Speiser is preferred.
ITEM 3:
ANOTHER SIDE OF BOB DYLAN
Embossed Labels LP (Low Double Figures). I purchased this rare LP album from an eBay seller who states in a letter that perhaps only five (5) exist. However, the website "Discogs" states the following:
Labels have raised-relief, embossed Columbia Eye logos in the 2-3/4" center section. Known quantities of this variant are in low double figures.
The following description comes from the eBay seller's listing from whom I purchased this rare LP album from:
Bob Dylan

Vinyl:

Possibly one of the rarest Dylan pressings ever.
The center of the Columbia label is
EMBOSSED
and raised
(bas relief style) with the Columbia eye logo!!
Columbia made only a handful of copies of the experimental labels for
Dylan Streisand and possibly Johnny Cash (unconfirmed) in very low
quantities estimated to be anywhere from 100 to 20, which would make this pressing
just about as rare as the Freewheelin' album with the withdrawn tracks!
ITEM 4:
BOB DYLAN: 50TH ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION 1964
Box Set (1 of 1,000). The 50th Anniversary Collection 1964 is the third Bob Dylan collection released by Sony Music to prevent the recordings from legally entering the public domain in Europe. Released on vinyl only in December 2014 only 1,000 copies of the nine-LP set were produced.
LP 5 - Sides A & B contain different takes on 9 June 1964, Columbia Studios, New York City,
Another Side Of Bob Dylan
sessions.
