    Collector Note
Made by hand or in small groups of similar styles, vintage jewelry is individualistic with its own special history.
Glass made to simulate citrine has bright color and refraction.
Dragon accenting the flower and leaf design is less commonly found.
Wide and domed, this ring has a bold and dramatic silhouette on your finger.
    BackStory
    On Figurals
    .
Figural jewelry includes any piece that has been shaped into an animal, person, object, or detailed “day in the life” scene. Antique and vintage figural jewelry is often quite charming and collectible for the realistic or cutesy details. Specific objects or animals became popular and prolific in jewelry during certain time periods, Scotty dogs during the 1940’s for example, or swallow birds during the Victorian era. Figural jewelry is special for its detail and realism but also tells the story of the decade they were made in.
    On the Art Nouveau Movement.
Design motifs of the Art Nouveau movement from the early 20th century are all about stylized, curving and flowing lines found in nature. Though occurring at a similar time as the Arts and Crafts movement and sharing some design sensibilities, the Art Nouveau was far more whimsical and lighthearted. Popular figural motifs included fairies, flowers, and the "Art Nouveau lady" (a highly feminine woman generally depicted with flowing and flowered hair).
