ABOUT:
Rare and Wonderful Antique 18k gold ring.  It is in the form of a violet flower in a reticulated setting with a ruby set in the center and the shoulders are curved and decorated with leaves.  The right side of the band (when the flower is facing up) is set with 5 rose cut diamonds, 3 on one side of the leaf and two on the other.  The bezels for the diamonds are topped in white gold to provide a nice accent.  Beautiful lifelike design and movement on this romantic ring.  It can be worn with the flower facing up or down, and it also stacks nicely next to other rings.  I have shown it in the photos stacked next to a a gold band (which is not included in the purchase).
Excellent craftsmanship and detail.  And the patina is just perfect with lovely coloring to the gold, the flower being a warm antique yellow gold and the band a bit more rosy.  It's so pretty!
This is a French piece from the Belle Epoque period, c1900.  I actually acquired it at an antique shop in Wisconsin and just fell in love with the floral design. I wish I could keep this unique piece but I would not be a very successful seller if I kept everything I liked so I have enjoyed wearing it for a week and now its on to the next home who will treasure it : ). I wish I knew the story of how it traveled from France to Wisconsin : )

HALLMARKS:
The back outside of the band is stamped with the French eagle head hallmark for 18k gold.  It also has a maker's / goldsmith mark I could not decipher.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6.  The stones are very small, like 1mm diameter for the ruby and largest diamond.  Appears easily sizable but I always recommend checking with your local jeweler.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition.  Very little to report as far as issues though, it is a sturdy piece with a beautiful patina.  A bit of organic surface wear but it still looks great.  Rare and beautiful French antique figural piece But Due to age - please note this is not a mint condition item.
