    Description

Found at a brocante in the countryside of Normandy, France (known for making copper for centuries), a charming and rare copper water tank/reservoir from the 1950s, complete with tight fitting lid with tiered design, and brass working spigot (just turn the cloverleaf design handle to let water release/stop). Horizontal ribbed design on tank/reservoir. Openings on flat backside to hang with nails or hooks on a wall/fence. We have left the aged copper patina as found. Attractive round shape. Excellent overall condition despite some minor discoloration earned with usage (notably on the back-side and inside). No Leaks. The lid fits perfectly atop the reservoir. Long ago used in a French garden where the sun would warm the water so that hands could be washed before coming inside the chateau or farmhouse! Functional today on a garden wall or fence so you can rinse your off your veggies, fruit and/or hands before entering the home.
The copper water reservoir measures 10.5 inches tall including the lid's knob; the reservoir alone measures 8.75 inches tall, 9.25 inches wide and extends out from the wall 5 inches. The brass spigot extends out by 2 inches. Please review all the photos. Weighs 1.620 kg.
