    Description

    Up for auction is a
    RARE
    ANTIQUE Carved Man in the Moon Garnet 14 kt Yellow Gold Filigree Ring.  The outside measurement of the setting is approximately 19.5 mm diameter.  The carved garnet measures approximately 12 mm.  The garnet is a deep burgundy/red stone.  The band width is 3.5 mm.  The ring weighs 6 grams according to our scale.  It is a size 7.25 according to our ring sizer.  Circa late 1800's-early 1900's.
    The ring is in excellent condition for its age.  There are no noticeable dings or scratches that we could see.  It was masterfully carved and has a beautiful dimpled chin.  Our research has found these rings were typically carved by Italian jewelers in the Mediterranean area.
