BOB DYLAN MOSAIC PORTRAIT FOR SALE!It all started for me with a poster collected by my dad.
A poster designed by Milton Glaser in 1967. Considered one of his most iconic poster designs, which was the psychedelic Bob Dylan poster.
I acquired the poster in 2010 from my dad, who was a big Dylan fan and collector.
Eight years later I decided to do this amazing image in my chosen medium, mosaic glass. Only the best glass, di MOSAICO Italian glass Smalti would be used to create the entire portrait.
Now with this glass and the poster as my inspiration Bob was started.
Over 2.5 years spent under construction and 701 counted hours is what it took me to complete this piece.
Personally it exceeded my expectations, mostly due to its unique glass arrangement. Mosaic features include: accurate color matching, glass arranging was mostly an original style with each piece a different shape, designed to fit tight next to the other, no matter the shape. This was an extremely time consuming process. Each individual piece was ground, filed or sanded to fit, with some pieces having 6-8 different hand ground angles.
