Description
This is a late 1800s to early 1900s copper rectangular teakettle, which is often referred to as a ship’s kettle. It is English. It has a brass handle and finial. It is 11” in length, excluding spout; 9” wide; 4 1/2” high, excluding handle; 11 1/2” high, including handle; and it weighs 5 3/8 pounds. While it presents well, it was well used, as indicated by the dings on the top; the resoldering of the handle ends to the base; and the black bottom (see photos). It is a good display piece which would require re-tinning to be used.
