Description
Philosophical musings of Steven Pickering, an early Dylan enthusiast. This publication explores the author's appreciation for Dylan as the "greatest poet of the century," and rejects the "rationalist distortions of rock magazines." Released the same year as Tarantula, it hails the work as "scintillating" and "brilliant."Also contains numerous writings by Dylan and articles by others about Dylan difficult, at best, to find elsewhere.
There were three printings of this very rare item, all with the same front cover, stapled, large format 28 cm x 36,5 cm (11.07 in x 14.37 in)
This copy, the second edition published in July 1971, runs 64 numbered pages and totals 68 pages including the front and back covers and the front and back inside pages of those covers. As the photos display, this publication is, quite simply, packed - with the typed text (yes, on a typewriter folks) running close to the bottom of the pages.
This second edition had some differences compared to the first edition, including the inside front cover containing a lengthy statement by Steven Pickering omitting a May 12, 1971 Peanuts cartoon about Bob turning 30.
Please examine photos carefully. If more information or photos are desired, please ask.
I've also downloaded from Academia(dot)edu a 2017 Bibliography by Steven Pickering about Dylan developments since he published this
Commemoration
in 1971. A copy will be tucked inside the magazine/newspaper.
