Consequently, the Platinum card was added to the Gold record rather than a new Platinum award record ordered to follow the Gold so soon.

    Description

GIVEN HIS RECENT NOBEL PRIZE IN LITERATURE,  THIS AWARD SHOULD EXPONENTIALLY INCREASE IN VALUE.  DYLAN HAS BEEN THE UNDISPUTED TRANSFORMATIVE FORCE RESPONSIBLE FOR INFLUENCING THE GREATEST ARTISTS IN THE LATTER HALF OF  20TH CENTURY MUSIC
    (AND CONTINUES TO).
NOW TO BE RECOGNIZED IN THE SAME ACADEMIA AS FAULKNER, STEINBECK, HEMINGWAY, CAMUS, CHURCHILL --------  MOST HAVE NO IDEA OF THE GRAVITY OF THAT DISTINCTION.   CITING HIS POETIC CONTRIBUTION TO THE WORLD,  DYLAN'S WORDS CHANGED THE WAY SOCIETY FUNCTIONED AND ACTED AND EVOLVED.   ANYTHING WITH HIS NAME ON IT SHOULD BE WORTH 10 X THIS LISTING AND SOMEDAY IT WILL,  JUST AS HEMINGWAY'S AND STEINBECKS ARE.   THERE ARE ONLY A FEW OF THESE LEFT AND YOU WON'T BE SEEING ANY UP FOR GRABS ANYWHERE.
Bob Dylan's "Desire"  was a long-awaited comeback for him and his fans.  After a long draught, and experimental flops,  he went GOLD and then almost immediately PLATINUM with this album.  He was back on track.   An important milestone album in his career and a very RARE and hard to find award.   Columbia ordered 500 Gold record awards from my father,  who made the gold and platinum's for the record industry for 50 years/  He passed this year and I inherited his estate.  Just after those gold's were fully in production,  the album went platinum so the "Platinum card" you see on the award  was added to the gold record at the last minute.
As with all of my gold & platinum record awards left over from my father's workshop and in my listings,  none of these were ever sold to the public,  but rather all were sent to radio stations or given to music industry executives as appreciation by the record label companies for helping to make the album a success.
Considering its rarity and Dylan's legend,  this is an exceptional value and should be selling for much, much more.
