ABOUT:
Interesting thick, wide band ring with center purple ruby.  Unique piece with the raised floral pattern with curled stems on both sides of the stone.
This is an antique piece that I acquired in Europe. It has an initial stamp inside but no gold hallmarks but it was sold to me as 10k and tested as such for me as well.  It was sold to me as a ruby but I couldn't get an accurate reading on my gem tester so I took it to my jeweler is is a certified gemologist and he told me it is a natural purple ruby, a unique stone.  Some gemologists also identify them as purple sapphires, as they have the same properties.  It has a pretty pinkish purple coloring.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6 3/4, a bit over on the ring sizer mandrel but with the wide band I thought it might fit more snug than a size 7.   The amethyst is about 5mm.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
All my estate pieces are preowned and in estate condition. It has a nice patina from age, and could be cleaned up further but some of my buyers have mentioned they like the patina.   Surface wear to the gold band but it is still substantial and nicely shaped.
It presents nicely but due to age - please note this is not a mint condition item.  Like all antique jewelry, please handle these rings with care.
