This Victorian copper jug or pitcher is marked on the base with the BENHAM and FROUD mark of the Orb and Cross, and the capacity 4 QT. On the front are the initials of the original owner W.N. The jug was constructed with a fine brass filled seam down the side under the handle. The handle is brass and is attached with copper rivets. The condition is very good, there are no noticeable dents . The rim is rolled around a iron frame that has corroded over the years but has kept its shape. The interior has been restored with electroplated tin. It is water tight. It is 10" tall up to the thumb grip on the handle. The base is 8 1/4" wide. It weighs exactly 3 lbs. 9 oz. This is a beautiful impressive display piece, rare and very collectable. Thank you for looking.
