Antique Letter:Addressed to; "Genl. James Tallmadge - Poughkeepsie."
"Poughkeepsie March 2nd 1820.
Genl. Tallmadge.
Sir, I am attacked with Rhumitege (?) & cannot go am doctoring to be well so as to take the stage this evening for the north & west. I am at Mr. Fowler's Tavern with a fire in his chamber, would thank you to call & see me, as soon as you can this day, Mr. Gilbert is here, he arrived last evening, I am your humble servant - David Tallman."

Condition:
Some wear, toned, some
soiling/foxing, folds/creases.

Letter is in good+
condition.
This letter was purchased
about ten years ago
from Northeast Auctions in Portsmouth, N.H.,
